Single Ring Issue On Blocked Calls

Single Ring Issue On Blocked Calls

Problem with a single ring

If you are having a single ring issue with blocked calls, the CPR Call Blocker uses the ‘first ring’ to get the Caller ID signal and then checks this against the block list to see if the number has been blocked – it is however designed to ‘mute’ this first ring so you should not hear a ring if caller is a blocked call.

Reason for the SINGLE Ring
If you’re hearing a single ring, this could be due to a couple reasons, ranging from the set up of the CPR Call Blocker, the location the CPR Call Blocker is connected on the phone line, the telephone(s) make/model that are plugged in on the line, the line running to the property or the line provider

Solution

Change the operating mode:

Change how the call blocker operates with the phone by change the operating mode of the call blocker, there is 3 operating modes in the call blocker and we call them 100, 200 and 300.

Changing the operating mode in the V5000
  1. Get a dial tone
  2. Hold DELETE for 5 seconds until the call blocker beeps this will change the call blocker to mode “100”
  3. Hang up and repeat the process for mode “200” and “300” should 100 not work for you
Alternatively
1.       Get a dial tone
2.       Hold Block now for 5 seconds until the call blocker beeps
3.       Enter **9#100#
4.       Hang up repeat the process for mode “200” (**9#200#) and “300” (**9#300#) should 100 not work for you.

Changing the operating mode in the V10000

Change Mode:
  1. Get a dial tone
  2. Hold CALL LIST for 5 seconds until the call blocker beeps this will change the call blocker to mode “100”
  3. Hang up and repeat the process for mode “200” and “300” should 100 not work
Test with one Phone

Have JUST the CPR Call Blocker and ONE phone connected and remove any splitters/filters/extension cables in use.Try connecting the CPR Call Blocker and the single phone to each of the telephone sockets in the property until the single ring issue is resolved, it is best where possible, to have the CPR Call Blocker connected to the first socket/jack on the circuit - IF RESOLVED - the issue is either the other phones/cables in use or the location the CPR Call Blocker is connected in relation to the other phones – re-connect the other phones one at a time to see which phone causes the single ring issue – when you have identified it, try connecting the CPR Call Blocker at this point or disconnecting this phone entirely.

Try using a different make/model telephone in with the CPR Call Blocker, however if you still have the issue after each of the steps described, the issue is likely the physical line itself or the line provider which we unfortunately cannot resolve.
