Caller ID stopped working when using Call Blocker

Caller ID stopped working when using Call Blocker

In the U.S.A especially, due to the large areas involved, sometimes the caller ID signal can differ in strength depending on how far your home is from the telephone exchange and appear weaker and as a result, you may lose the caller ID feature on your
phone/TV screen when the Call Blocker is connected. If this happens, you will need to wire the Call Blocker up IN-PARALLEL rather than the default IN-LINE method. To wire the unit up IN-PARALLEL, you will require an additional line cable and a splitter/doubler (we supply these free of charge if the call blocker is bought from us).

You need to plug the splitter/doubler into your main telephone socket/cable modem and your existing telephone cable plugs in one end and runs into your phone as normal. Then the additional line cable plugs in the remaining port and runs to port LINE 2 of the call blocker (left side).

**The short black cable we supply with the call blocker isn't used while set up IN-PARALLEL**

The CPR Call Blocker will work absolutely fine set up this way, but you won't see the RED lights active on v.103/4/5/6/7/8 models (this is normal). The BLOCK NOW button will still block valid visible caller display numbers, however the unit cannot
be programmed whilst set up IN-PARALLEL.

**If programming is needed, you will need to revert back to the normal IN-LINE connection method and then change back to PARALLEL when complete. My advice would be to program ALL programming codes into the Call Blocker whilst set up IN-LINE and then change to a PARALLEL connection and just use the BLOCK NOW button to block visible numbered calls as they are calling you.**

Please Note:
There is a work around for the unit to be programmed IN-PARALLEL. But it's a little tricky to achieve, especially on the v.103/4/5/6/7/8 models as there's no screen. It's easier to achieve on the v.201/v.202 models.

To do this;

WITHOUT getting a dial tone, simply dial the number you wish to block on your phone.
Then press the the green phone/talk/call button on your phone to ring the number.
Just before the number rings, the number you're dialling should appear on your call blocker screen as it's about to ring.
As soon as you see it on your call blocker screen, IMMEDIATELY press BLOCK NOW and the number will be instantly added to the BLOCK LIST

This is a very handy tip for customers who need to program the call blocker regularly but have to keep swapping to an IN-LINE setup and then back to IN-PARALLEL to fix loss of caller ID on the phones/call blocker.
